Adding password protection to an existing published page

Step 1

Click the security settings link in the Users & Security section of the Administration panel.

Step 2

The the Access Control List section add a new item.

Allow any logged on user will ensure a password is required to view the page.

A specific URL is then specified for password protection.

When the details have been entered click the Add Item button.

Step 3

The new rule will now appear in the Access Control List.

As shown on the right it states that any login is required to access the pw_test published page.

Step 4

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Submit Changes button.

This is very important as the new rule won't save unless this button is clicked.
