Availability and Service Monitoring - MCS Monitor
MyConnection Server 9 now includes a comprehensive suite of monitoring services to ensure availability and performance of critical applications, services and devices that are material to the customer experience. Service monitoring allows MyConnection Server to validate these important services to ensure that customer has a good quality of experience. For example MyConnection Server can measure the availability of critical routers and firewalls affecting a large customer base using the Ping monitor or measure the performance of a VoIP SIP switch for large VoIP customer base.

MCSpulse supports the following commonly used applications services:

  • DNS monitor ensures that vital application domain look-up services are available and performing correctly.
  • FTP monitor ensures that customer facing FTP services are available and delivering service.
  • Ping test validates that critical network devices such as routers are reachable and responding.
  • Port monitor measures router utilization to ensure capacity is able to meet customer demand.
  • Router monitor test determines network activity of a SNMP enabled device.
  • SIP monitor measures the performance of establishing/removing SIP sessions on a remote SIP.
  • SNMP monitor ensures that SNMP compliant devices are available and responding to SNMP requests.
  • HTTP monitor measures availability and performance of important web application services such as a log-on page.
  • MyHiSpeed tests high speed connections MyHiSpeed Network Test Module
MyHiSpeed tests high bandwidth fiber connections from 100Mbps to gigabit speeds over latencies up to 60 milliseconds
Test port availability MyFirewall Network Test Module
MyFirewall enables quick and easy testing of port availability for TCP and UDP ports, providing a quick means to test client's ability to connect with critical applications such as VoIP call, video conferencing, email, web and CITRIX access. Port tests can be performed on-demand via a support web portal, or via remote agents that automate the process and minimize customer involvement.
MySpeed speed test and connection quality test Gauge View added to MySpeed Network Test Module
The MySpeed test now includes an option for a gauge view display for browser-based connection tests.

test connections for VoIP quality SIP Response Test added to MyVoIP Network Test Module
The MyVoIP test now includes an option to test SIP response to help determine if a remote client can establish a VoIP connection. Response times are reporte for Register, Invite and Bye.

    Analysis Tool Kit
The Analysis Tool Kit provides flexible views connection results over extended periods of time for trend and correlation analysis. Reporting options include:
    • Select data by the last minutes, hours, days, or by specific time perio
    • Quick filters provide views based on Session ID, Hostname, Country Code, ISP or MCS metric
    • View data in graphical or tabular format
    • Drill down to detail data for any connection test, view the audit log for any connect test
    • View threshold reports to see any results above/below a threshold value
NetQCheck™ OEM API for Integrated Connection Service Testing and Analysis
NetQCheck delivers a comprehensive testing framework that can be embedded into network applications and/or devices for testing, analyzing and reporting connectivity problems. NetQCheck effectively smart enables any network device or application that is connected to a TCP/IP network so it can test TCP and UDP protocols, explore routes to quickly identify quality issues, especially in the last mile, that affect the customer. NetQCheck delivers a highly portable OEM API which can operate on any compliant platform, such as a VoIP phone handset, firewall, multimedia set-top box, mobile phone or simply a Windows /Unix PC client workstation.
