MyConnection Server (MCS) monitoring solution provides a comprehensive suite of services to measure the availability and performance of critical applications, services and devices that are material to the customer experience. Service monitoring allows MCS to validate important services as part of the automated testing solution to ensure application service delivery. As an example MCS Monitor can measure DNS availability and performs for critical domains that are used by the customer business application. In addition the availability and performance of critical routers, firewalls and other can also be measured.
The MCS monitoring solution supports the inclusion of outside third party services as a means to compare and validate performance issues that are encountered. In such cases observing that performance issues are affecting global providers such as popular website or a service in a particular geographical location helps to quickly isolate problems that are as a result of external interference.
MCS Monitor supports the following commonly used applications services:
• DNS ensures vital application domain look-up services are available and performing correctly.
• HTTP measures availability and performance of important web application pages such as a log-on page.
• SIP measures the performance of establishing and removing SIP sessions on a remote SIP server.
• FTP ensures customer facing FTP services are available and delivering service.
• Ping validates critical network devices such as routers are reachable and responding.
• Port measures router utilization to ensure capacity is able to meet customer demand.
• Router test determines network activity of a SNMP enabled device.
• SNMP ensures SNMP compliant devices are available and responding to SNMP requests.
